Sheet, dirt, projected video

A Good Scrub is a work in progress performance/installation. The performance aspect included carrying the sheet around in my daily life, hoping to track it through some dirt. After the installation of the bed sheet, a looped video of hands scrubbing away at a sterile surface was projected on top. The piece is meant to represent a desire to clean or purify “stains” in life, relationships, and memory. The futile attempt to clean the filthy cloth is endless and does not reach any conclusion. In order to complete this piece I am researching projection mapping and planning another iteration that omits the text .
